Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program

Applicants who receive a Housing Choice Voucher will locate the housing of their choice and rental assistance will be paid on their behalf directly to the Landlord. The amount of subsidy is calculated based on adjusted household income and family size. Eligible housing can include apartments, single family homes, and mobile homes, as long as the dwelling passes a Housing Quality Standards inspection and meets program criteria such as rent reasonableness. This program is open to all applicants. There is currently a waiting list for this program. As program participants give up their vouchers, the list is opened and the next applicant(s), in order of date and time, are asked to come in for an interview.
